Puzzle Methodology
How puzzles, hints, clues, and recommendations are developed.
Our puzzle features are designed with educational outcomes in mind.
Hint generation
Hints are generated using deterministic ranking heuristics (for example, information-gain estimates for Wordle-style guessing) combined with editorial review of high-impact templates.
Clue construction
Crossword-style clues are developed against patterns of length, position, and known letters. Where AI assists with clue suggestions, the AI Language Disclosure applies.
Difficulty
Puzzle difficulty is calibrated to learning goals rather than to maximizing time-on-site.
Educational framing
All methodologies are educational. Puzzle outputs are intended to encourage learning, vocabulary growth, and pattern recognition, not to provide a definitive ruling for any specific game or competition.
